I love writing. I love golf. I love helping people. So I decided to write about golf in hopes of helping people.
Golf is special in the realm of sports because of its ability to mirror life in so many ways. I often find myself on the golf course thinking “life is a lot like that” or reflecting on a life lesson and thinking “golf is a lot like that”.
Many would say that sports in general mirror life and I would agree to some extent but I can (and will) submit to you that golf is the sport that mirrors life the best.
Consider a few key variables unique to golf –
1- Golf is an individual sport
2- The conditions on a golf course are variable and ever changing
3- Golf can be played for your entire life
And many more.
The lessons I will share here come from my time on the golf course which coincides with all but 5 years of my life to this point. I make no claims of having all the answers on the golf course or in life… but golf, much like life, is about taking the lessons you have learned and applying them each day to the best of your ability.
Golf is deceptively simple and endlessly complicated; it satisfies the soul and frustrates the intellect. It is at the same time rewarding and maddening – and it is without a doubt the greatest game mankind has ever invented.
